Mental Health Strategies to Implement into Your Daily Routine

Incorporating powerful mental health strategies into your daily routine is a game changer.

However, I believe that 50 percent of people are operating under the notion that they simply are the way they are, that they can’t change themselves. They don’t understand the serious and significant ways they were affected by their childhood, family history and their experiences, so they simply carry on repeating patterns. They lack consistent mental health strategies that put them on the path toward self improvement and personal growth.

Then, there are 50% of people that see and feel that something is wrong. They can’t quite seem to get it right, to feel a steady sense of fulfillment and peace, the joy and beauty that they have experienced in moments or have faith that exists based on what they perceive in other people. This group is trying, they are doing things as best they can with the tools and resources currently available to them. They are in pursuit of those critical mental health strategies.

If you are reading this, you are in that latter 50%, and it’s time that you choose mental health.

Pursuing Self Improvement, Committing to Mental Health Strategies

On the subject of mental health strategies, self improvement, and transforming stress, I have enough knowledge to fill a book (coming soon!). For now, I want to provide you with the foundational understanding of what mental health strategies are and how they can help you on your journey toward personal growth.

What are mental health strategies?

Nothing matters more than your mental health. Mental health strategies are individual practices that set you free from the internal and external bondage of distress and dysfunction. Your state of mental health determines your all-other characteristics of your life, your relationships and your circumstances. When you apply these mental health strategies, you can live with disease, disorders and all kinds of problems, complications and challenges while still having a beautifully vibrant life.

The best way to pursue personal growth through mental health is to implement these short and easy strategies into a daily routine, to make them easy, manageable tasks done within all that you have going on. Integrate them into your daily routine and find balance, ease and energy!

You do this like building a structure. You put sturdy pillars in place on a strong foundation that holds up the structure keeping you safe within it. When you establish and stay committed to your structured routines, it enables you to keep moving forward despite the difficulties, problems and struggles holding you down. This is the way you feel balance within the emotions and circumstances you consistently face.

Creating a Daily Routine

Structure your day by inserting mental health strategies into a rhythmic framework that will support health and vitality each and every day while supporting your growth and development in balance and with harmony.

4 Pillars of Daily Structure

1. Wake Up Morning Routine

This is the time to set your mind. It is especially important when you don’t wake up feeling totally motivated and energized. You need to set up your morning routine in a way that takes you through each element that must be done and incorporates mental health strategies that focus your mind in specific directions that provide the framework for best outcomes.

2. Wind Down Nighttime Routine

Sleep is critical to mental health. In fact. If you want to make someone psychotic, the easiest way would be to deprive them of sleep. If you aren’t making sleep a priority, you need to start doing so now. I admit, sleep can be tricky, but there are some things you can do to maximize the restorative quality of deep sleep each night.

3. Midday Brain Reset

As the stress of the day builds as you go, it’s important to give your brain a reset in the middle of the day so you have the bandwidth to keep going while staying alert and relaxed.

4. Activate Your Body

Your body is a temple. It must be respected. You have to find everything you can to love and appreciate your body as it currently is. Right now, if you have a body that can get you up and take you to the kitchen to get a glass of water, you are beyond blessed. If you have eyes that see, ears that hear, you are so blessed. If you have control over your legs and arms, you are a rich soul. These little blessings are walked by everyday yet they are the most precious gifts this life offers and if you were to have any of them taken, you would quickly see just how precious they are. Activating your body changes your mentality.

Your Challenge

Serious about self improvement?

My challenge for you is to set aside 30 minutes this week to map out your daily structure. Here is a suggested outline that you can modify to fit your needs.

Morning Routine

  • > Sit up in bed, place flat feet on ground, connect with your breath breathe 10 long slow deep breaths
  • > Make your bed
  • > Think of everything in your life that you appreciate and are grateful for
  • > Practice positive affirmations in the mirror, say what you like about yourself, say your strengths and attributes
  • > Stretch and practice power postures
  • > Shower and get ready for the day

Winddown Routine

  • > Put away your phone
  • > Take a warm bubble bath
  • > Practice gratitude
  • > Say your prayers
  • > Set essential oils or candle
  • > Read a book

Midday Brain Reset

Activate Your Body

  • > Get outside for a hike
  • > Practice yoga
  • > Go for a run or walk
  • > Schedule a massage

At the end of the day, it’s important that you prioritize your mental health and create a routine that facilitates consistency and growth.

Get to it! Do this for yourself. This is the wisest investment of your mind and body and will create dividends for years to come.
